The notes from the builder says to drain the crank case after a ride. When draining the oil from the crank case between short rides, how much should be coming out?

Oh... interesting discussion... now I wonder if I'm doing this correctly.

What I do is take the top plug out after using the bike. 

After a ride I get a little dribble out, not too much. I understood this was a good way to check if I have the injection rate set correctly. I.e. I should get a bit out, and that shows I have enough being injected, but not too much as that would show I am over injecting.....

I also leave the plug out when I store the bike. Because I don't have an oil shut off valve and the injector passes and if there is a lot of oil in the tank it can drain into the crank case over time when the bike is stored over winter for example. And if I didn't drain this down to the upper plug the engine would be over filled with oil when I run it....

So knowledgeable and experienced guys.... do I have this right?

Yes I agree  But  always set my pump a little higher   . After a ride   I  drain the sump at Bottom plug  and replentish  with new oil  from hand pump ,Oil is cheaper tan rebuilds!  I have never used the hand pump when riding  .

Pulling the bottom plug each ride sounds like the way to go and I'll keep an eye on the top plug's volume first to see how the pump is doing.  Thanks for the collective wisdom!
