'Classic Bike',
[Definitive is a term, which always arouses a little scepticism, but in this
case the co-authors Harry V Sucher, Tim Pickering, Liam Diamond and Harry
Havelin, have pretty much done just that. It's a hefty 337 pages with a very
high word count per page, which go into minute details, including race results
down to the nearest second. There are also 140, many previously unpublished
images.............................................To have compiled such a book,
on a character dead for some 80 years, without recourse to close family is a
remarkable achievement. Indeed a definitive work.]
'Motorbike men' that I know with no previous interest in Indians and who have
now read the book have been taken aback by the story of Franklin and his Indians
to such an extent that some of them are now actively looking to acquire one for
restoration!
If you hav'nt read 'Franklins Indians' then buy, beg or borrow a copy, add it to
your Christmas list, its a great way to while away the time over the vacation,
well done lads!
