Seeking/Looking for 101 Kicker

15 Jan 2020 2:43 PM | Anonymous

Greetings fellow 101 Enthusiasts . with warm weather out of the norm the other day here in upstate NEW YORK, I was kicking my '29 101  over when the Kick lever broke off at the pedal . Of course I had two and sold my spare on ebay a few years ago for a whopping $99.00. Now I see there are only the polish reproductions at $375.00. Yikes I have bought stuff from the site. and it is Good quality however that is crazy and does/will welding cast Iron really work, This is a carpenter asking a dumb welding Question Please help with a kicker lever for sale or will other levers fit?

Thanks Dennis In Rochester

Hi Have you tried Reno Indian in CZ republic.
They used to make them around third of the price you were quoted.

I have a Reno one and can vouch for the quality. I paid around €100 for it. He also sells the pins in three sizes to ensure a good fit to the frame boss if yours is loose at all.

Yes this Can be welded with out any problom i broke my Kick start on my 37 BSA and it was Chrome as well. I cut a good welding grove around and welded it with a mig welder and slowly built up the gap leaving a mm at the top for silver brazing. And it was then polished. Been to a lot of shows and nobody Can see it.
So save the cash and weld it.

Hi Dennis, did you get a kicker for your 101?. I have 2 spare, both welded. I've used welded replacements before no problem. & as long as the "welder" knows what they're doing they will be successful.
Let me know if you still need 1??. Cheers, Louie
