Thank you Ken! for the advice.i have contacted Juergen Mattern.it took some time.i think he was busy whith other things.i will order a sliding gear.and i saw also that he have the other gears also.i wonder how a new sliding gear will work together whith all the other used.somewhat worn gears?if the gearbox feels and sounds ok and keeps the gear grip while driving? or will it eat up the new repro gear by the time? just a thougt? should i buy all gears new or just change the sliding gear? best regards

Generally the sliding and cluster gear should be replaced as a pair if possible, the drive gear not usually that worn, as it is engaged constantly with the cluster, and if the dogs that engage with the sliding gear are unworn , should work fine with the new gear.

Unless .... ask Juergen if the dogs on new gears are undercut at all . Sometime in the early forties on 741 and sport scout gear boxes, Indian started to undercut the dogs slightly so the sliding gear and drive gear had a slight dovetail engagement, which lead to far less kicking/slipping out of gear.  I beleive Jim Parker in Australia does this to early scout transmissions, don't know the details, never done it myself. Would be interesting to hear from anyone who has.

    Good Day To All!

I have another source for slider gear and other transmission parts.

Greer Engineering. Do not know of anyone who has used the slider but he does sell quality parts and usually has most items in stock.
