After a long break,in part due to a hospital visit, I now want to get back to completing the restoration of my 1929 101.

I need to know the correct size of the tank decals used in that year.

I have been looking at the various decals on the market and they vary a lot.

In addition, was there a circular decal on the toolbox ?

    Mike.

    Hy  Mike,

    These are the correct dimensions:

    L: 2 1/8" , that means 54 mm

    H 1/2", that means 12,7-13mm

Georges bike on the home page is a 29 Mike, that will tell you relative size. You need to watch for sharpness of the lettering, some decals are a little too blobby in the details.

    Hi Tim,

going by George's bike photo, the main Indian decal must be around 7'' long

not 2'' as above post , unless that reference was for the tool box decal.?

    Mike.

    Hello Mike,

I made a mistake with the size of the Indian lettering. The above size information is the lettering "Scout" on the tank of a 1928 101 Scout.

Enclosed are some providers, you may find something suitable.

Here is at least 2 versions of decals on the 101 and a couple different on the short frame Scout. Here's a rare Scout 45 decal

Hi Mike. pics of the original paint 28 in the shop manual are correct for 29, same decals for 1930 too. the ones with the bar underneath are smaller, and introduced for 1931 season.
