Another 101 popped up on eBay - looks like a better choice than the Clown/Wall of Death bike I posted recently.  Swedish history, too pretty to ride?  Does not show up in our engine registry.

No involvement with the auction - just posting FYI.

Never ride a 101 without the toolbox attached at the original place on rear fender. A tiny oil leak from the clutch lever worm on the clutch cover, will at speed blow oil drops right in between brake linings rendering that rear brake suddenly useless. Been there, done that and barely survived just by luck!

    Potentially lethal!

    Maybe the engine is usable.

    In case it interests you:

This 101 was in the Gene Ponder Collection of Marshall, Texas. It sold with the rest of the collection in 1,163 lots with 977 registered bidders by Sothebys September 22-24, 2022 for $43,125.00. That collection fetched $24,315,417.00 in auction sales. Big Texan Gene Ponder commissioned the historically odd-looking (only Roy Rogers and Dale Evans could love - see picture in case you don't know about these "stars") saddlebags from Heathers Leathers in 2019 for $905.77.  In contrast to the eBay seller's claim: the auction catalog noted that this 101 only "may" have once been in the MC Collection near Vasteras (it was deaccessioned out of the collection for some reason?). The Sotheby's auction made no mention of a restoration "in Denmark" as claimed by the eBay seller. And it is not clear where the claim by the eBay seller that it was acquired from a collector in Dalnara, Sweden fits the real story.  "
