Is that at advanced or retarded ? , not that good for either ! 
Also I had web sites for Steve Blanchard but they seem to have disappeared , anyone any knowledge of why ? and cannot find again on a search ! That was a helpful site .

I want to verify that the marks on the rotor fiber gear and the mark on the metal gear behind the breaker cam match up.  I've located them both and marked them with a spot of paint, but I cannot see the area where they should meet...it's hidden.

Do I :

A)remove the rotor assembly.

or

B) remove the breaker plate assembly?

If taking one or both off will I see where those two gears mesh?

...AND, how do they come off?

Hello Harry , You may already have this but note the correction I made and George agreed the original counter clockwise of fibre gear was wrong , steel gear goes anti-clock , fibre cock-wise . Easiest is to remove the points plate to see properly .
