Should there be washers used either side of the foot brake Rocker lever stud on a 1931. The stud seems too wide for the rocker lever however I can't see any reference to washers in the parts book.

If I understand right, you ask about the threaded stud (or screw) for the rocker that links the 2 rods to the rear brake? What measures do you have, What part of the screw do you think is too long, the bearing part or the threaded part? How thick is the lever where the stud goes through, and how long is the bearing part on your frame. I don't have detailed knowledge of the -31  but with those measurements, someone might have an easier time to compare with what they have.

Yes it is the threaded stud for the rocker that links the 2 rods to the rear brake.

The bearing part of the stud measures about 30.5/32 of an inch in length while the rocker width is about 13/16 both measured with a steel rule. So it looks like there possibly should be a 1/16 washer either side of the rocker but I can't see any in the parts book.
