I did it on a 28 Short frame Scout about 20 years ago ,  I did reduce vibration a fair amount

Hi ...I have a 1934 Standard Scout.  It has a top bracket mount, securing both heads to the frame tube above.  Comparative with and without, and well, quite convincingly, the top mount eliminates much vibration, creating a more smoother experience.  Mind you, the standard scout '45c.i. here, is configured in a Chief Frame, so I am unable to say, exactly, what your experience will be, in a Scout Frame, but, predictably, much better I presume.

Well well well ...it appears my NS2 Magneto has a broken rotor cap retainer clip. Appears to have been broken for a number of years.  When I release the other clip, the cap still, remains fastened, to the magneto body.  At a guess, I's say, previous owner has adhered the cap to the body.  Does any 101'er out there, know where I may source a new retaining clip ?  ...and how one goes about replacing them.  I tried to access the rotor, to lubricate it, but left sleeping dogs lay, when I found the broken spring and adhered cap to body.  Thanks again ...Danny.

The clip itself or the retaining wire hinge ? Either way, the cap needs to come off to do it. Do some planning and have a spare cap handy first.
