Thanks Florian for those pictures of the Ilford seat , I have one in my garage and plan to fit it on my latest project a 1923 Chief , it's good to see it on a similar bike , that's why it's always nice to see photos on here !!

    Hi Ken,

you are welcome. I lik to help where I can and  am also interested to find out more on places like this forum.

By the way: if you have more on the history of the Ilford brand, please let me  know. It was just a guess of mine that it is Danish, but the name sounds British and the stye of it too looks British too.....

    Hello Florian ,

I have searched for the make Ilford but found nothing . If I do find anything , will let you know . The seat is the same as on most English bikes pre 1950 ish but of course could have been used by other countries . I bought mine at the Netley Marsh jumble over here but could have come from anywhere .

My '28 101 came from Denmark but being an early one without hinged mudguard it doesn't have that bracket but looks a good idea for strapping down luggage or even holding the hinged mudguard up for wheel removal .

    Best wishes , Ken
