    Hi,

Thank you for letting me into your association. I come from Poland. This year my brother bought a 1928 Indian 101 Scout, which I am going to restore, but I have some doubts concerning certain parts, especially the rear wheel hub and brake. Please see the photos and tell me if they are ok for my bike.

    Greetings from Poland,

    Andrzej

    Hi Andrzej, welcome aboard.

Parts should be compatible, altho the hub does look like a 1920's chief hub to me, but should work just the same.

Your backing plate looks like it is prepared for a double brake, available in some export markets sometimes between 1925 to 1927 I think, before front wheel hand brakes became standard on the Indian. And someone cut a piece off on yours for some reason, it is way strong so it shouldn't have weaken it much, but it is unnecessary and should be easy to weld in a piece to restore to original shape.
