Hello Everyone, reading the 101 shop manual & forum and have question on ring gaps. Currently is .015-.018 still the standard for 45" cylinders & does this include oil ring? I have stock bore cylinders from Hutchinson with 3 ring + oil ring pistons. I appreciate your time, as always.

Set a pair up just yesterday at 17 thou ring gap, which was pretty much what they came out of the box as with cylinder honed to 2.8765"

Did you get manifold nuts from Hutchy ? got a couple of pair here that we didn't and the threads are a little undersized, so stock manifold nuts don't fit .

    Hmmm.

Yes Tim, I bought manifold nuts from him with cylinders & they fit good. The valves I got won't work though,I purchase others. My Hastings rings were .012 out of box . Whats your opinion on .015 be good or go to .018-.020 for safe running on new cylinders with .0035 hone for standard piston fit?
