    Hello brand new member looking at a 1929 scout 101 the guy sent me pictues with this stamped on it and am wondering what it means.  Any help would br greatly appreciated.

     

    2 / 35D5  The engine is DGP 5013

    35D5 is a frame lug casting number , may be headstock, can't remember, will go and have a look later, but they all have that on them. various similar numbers on all the original frame castings.

    35 D 5 on the headstock and 35 D 9 on the seat pole casting. Many times those are mistaken for frame numbers, so there is many Scouts registred with that as a frame number.

    DGP 4317 is allegedly the last engine for 1928, so 5013 is the 695th item on the line in 1929 of maybe 5000 produced that year, so that ought be quite quite early in the season.
