Impossible parts

I was thinking of compiling a list of all the "impossible" to find new repro parts  for the 101.

    For starters,

    Right hand crankcase.

    Left hand crankcase

    Frame lugs

    Timing gear cover

    Bevel gear/clutch housing

    Bevel gear/clutch cover

    Gearbox casting

    Gearbox lid/gearchange tower

    Clutch basket/bevel gear

    Primary bevel drive gear

    Intermediate bevel gear

    Crankcase oil pump

    Cylinder front and rear

    There are several more.

If several owners showed interest , a batch of certain components could be produced.

For example I have used a company here in the UK who manufacture gears of all types and on gears that I have got from them I have been very pleased ith results.

The castings could perhaps be made in hiduminium in place of the usual alloy ?

This could make for a stronger component, but on the other hand could cause problems.

I would be interested to hear other owners comments.

    Mike.
