I'm working on a 101 motor and I need advice. I replaced  the case baffles and I am looking at the pistons. My gut tells me to use ones with oil rings to cut down on maintenance and oil consumption. Does anyone see a negative on this decision? thank you

Nope, standard 45 pistons with t-slot , three compression rings and slotted cast iron oil ring fine. 0.0045" clearance front to back at bottom of skirt, 0.015-018" ring gap, run in gently.
