Does anyone know if the motor-powered klaxon, formerly copper-like brushes were used? I found this in my klaxon. It clogs the blades of the rotor.

Hi Robert, just going by previous experience on all types of small dc motors, I would have expected brushes to be in carbon. Main point is the brush material should be softer than the armature segment area. Carbon brush much cheaper to replace than armature, that is if you could find an original armature.

Your armature could be spun on a lathe and cleaned up on the comutator end if not too badly damaged.

    Mike.

Thanks for the reply Mike. I have cleaned the armature between the segments and the klaxon screams it out again.
