Conrods- Indian rods a very strong and well designed. sport scout rods are the same but beefed up around the big end. Carillo do a scout replacement, have used a few, but they always seem to have some little issue thatneeds grinding or relieving. Paul Osborn, at Truett and Osborn, in Wichita, makes excellent scout replacement flywheels. He says that Indian rods are excellently engineered and made. The biggest issue with scout rods is that people often try and press in new big end races unsupported and this can break the female rod. They very rarely fail under use. Check any second hand rods for cracks around the nib at the bottom of the big end, this is where they will break if someone has done this.
