Having split my flywheels and inspected the parts - I have a question ...
My centre (knife) connecting rod has a bearing outer race with a small cut-out at the top (see picture).
The cut-out measures 1/2" wide x 1/32" deep (12.7mm x 0.8mm).
There is a corresponding cut-out on the connecting rod.
I figure this was either to ensure lubrication of the centre bearings - or was it to allow oil to exit towards the underside of the piston?
In any case - the new bearing set is plain.
The question is ... Should the new race be ground out to be similar to the old one?
Can't find any info about this in R&O manual.
