The bike has not progressed much this winter and I wanted to make a start this new year, but just been diagnosed with arthritis, which is making working with my hands very awkward. (my beer drinking hand is better than the other thank goodness !!) I am hoping that once the warmer weather gets here, things will improve and possibility of different medication might help. If not then I might have to part with the bike, which will be a shame as I have not had it running yet. Oh well, the joys of old age I guess. I can't grumble as I have had tip top health until now.

I have a good friend who has an apartment on a Spanish island. I will have to visit for a few weeks to see if that does the trick !!

    Mike.

    Hello Mike

I suffer Atthritis(Osteo) and  cronic back pain  but never give up ,I keep  moving  and continue to slog away at  my 101 and other pojects .

Most people  would never know .   Night time  is the only time I use  pain relief    sleep is bad   .I guess i  use projects as Therapy  and always will.

Keep at it if you can  and lock the  pain and inabilities  from your mind  and you will soon have a nice running 101  to please  your senses

    regards Phil

    Hi  Ken

Yes the top end is  34 Sport Scout  Big port    The heads are later  38ish  that someone modified years back  to the early stud pattern ,Later i will go back to Cast Iron Heads   as they look better   .

    regards Phil

Same as mine Phil , with later ''trench'' heads and would also like to go back to original but whether I'll ever get round to it is another matter and while it's going well , that old adage comes to mind ''if it aint broke don't fix it'' . So long as we can ride , that's the main thing . Ken

Thanks for various words of encouragement. The weather has warmed up slightly here and today I managed to get a bit more done.

I have the sidecar frame on workmate stands ready for primer.

So the cure seems to be "work twice as hard ". Well at least I can still grasp a beer glass !!

Hello Mike ...have a few bike enthusiasts who have a cure for arthritis.  Their hands are no longer limited and move much more freely, with far less restriction once again.  I will get their formula/cure off them and pass it on to you.  I’ll see them this Wednesday night.  Your progress will not be interupted ...onward 101 resto bound !
